ZHAO Luyang PhD

CEO, Founder and Board Member

Luyang founded Salus Biomed and has since served as the Chief Executive Officer to date. He has more than 10 years of experience in technology innovation and management in biotechnology and healthcare industries.

Luyang was previously a senior VP at QIELOU Capital, investing in some of the most exciting and innovative companies in healthcare. Before then, he was a senior analyst at GTJA Investment Group, responsible for GTJA’s investment research and strategic planning in biotechnical areas.

Prior to GTJA, Luyang was the Director of Chemistry Department at GeneMind Biosciences, where he superintended the sequencing chemistry and flowcell chip development for their single-molecule sequencing technique. During his work in R&D, Luyang had published 12 independent patents on the sequencing technology.

Luyang holds a PhD from North Carolina State University in analytical chemistry. He was awarded an honorary degree and his BS from University of Science and Technology of China.

WANG Gufeng PhD

CSO and Co-Founder

Gufeng co-founded Salus Biomed and brings more than 20 years of innovation and discovery in the fields of surface chemistry and optical imaging.

Previously, Gufeng was a professor at the Department of Chemistry, North Carolina State University. While at NCSU, Gufeng pioneered innovations in super resolution optical imaging technologies for structural observation of subcellular organelles and dynamic tracking of biomolecular trafficking. He also worked on developing ultra-fast, ultra-sensitive, high-plex assays for cancer diagnostic and prognostics markers.

Gufeng holds his PhD from the University of Iowa in analytical chemistry and received his postdoctoral training from Profs. Edward S Yeung and Ning Fang at Ames Lab, US DOE and Iowa State University. Over his 20 years of work in science and discovery, Gufeng has published over 80 peer reviewed papers in high profile scientific journals, including Nature, Nature Cell Biol., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angewandte. Chemie, etc.
